“Cross Country Show. Contemporary Swiss Photography” opens on Sep 11

On Thursday, September 11, 2014,  6:00 PM – M. Žilinskas Art Gallery of the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum and KAUNAS PHOTO festival open the exhibition “Cross Country Show. Contemporary Swiss Photography”.
Artists and their works: Christian Lutz “Protokoll”, Leo Fabrizio “Bunkers”, Urs Bigler “Gotthard”, Luca Zanier “Corridors of Power”, Romain Mader “Ekaterina”, Anne Golaz “Rural Scenes”, Giacomo Bianchetti “Can I?”. Five out of seven featured artists will be present at the opening. Right after the opening, at 7:00 PM, a brief Photography night at the auditorium of the same gallery will spotlight the exhibiting artists. Duration – up to one hour.

“Cross Country Show” satellite events:
September 11 , Thursday 3:00 PM. Vytauto Didžiojo karo muziejus (K. Donelaičio srt. 64, Kaunas) lecture by Leo Fabrizio based on his work  “Bunkers”.
Septemberd 12, Friday 6:00 PM M.Žilinskas Art Gallery Auditorium (Nepriklausomybės sq. 12, Kaunas) Catherine Kohler gives a lecture “Swiss photograpgy beyond Cliches”.

Exhibition opening guests are invited to visit other two exhibitions by KAUNAS PHOTO show at the M.Žilinskas Art Gallery – “Generation ’74” – celebrating 11 European photographers born in 1974 and “Museum 24/7” with works of 13 artists with works about the routine of museums in Europe and USA.
